Why make a blog?

I think I'm kinda writing this post as way of confirming with myself why I'm doing this ...

Basically, I've read blogs since forever and have lived vicariously through YouTube for about 3 or 4 years now. It started with the standard beauty vlogger like Blair Fowler of Juicystar07 and Bethany Mota of Macbarbie07, and since then instead of going out with friends or doing ANYTHING productive, I have lay in my bed watching YouTubers living their exciting lives while I drink endless amounts of hot chocolate and chai lattes watching my chin triple in the reflection of my laptop screen.

But then I stumbled across Louis Cole AKA 'Funforlouis'. He lives his life to the very VERY fullest, travelling on whims around the globe while making a living creating beautifully shot videos and talking to a camera on the daily. He was my original inspiration to travel, and although I had always wanted to explore the world, Louis made me realise I didn't need a great amount of money. Friends and positivity are all that guy seems to live on along with a hellish amount of caffeine.

Louis' channel then introduced me to Casey Neistat. Instantly, Casey BLEW MY MIND. I had never been remotely interested in the concept of film, but after watching just one video of Casey's I was hooked on the production and creativity behind filming an inspiring and visually stunning piece of work. All of his videos are on such a personal level, and he is one of the most unique and inspiring people I have ever come across (from what I can gather while sitting behind a screen).

Louis also led me to Ben Brown who caused a switch in my mind to click. This guy is so so talented, genuine and inspirational. He has such skill behind a camera - and in front of it - as he vlogs and uploads every single day. Ben was a professional Kayaker and was serious about sport, until he decided to take a break to focus on film and photography, however still incorporates this aspect of his past into his daily videos. Ben lives between South Africa and London, and is regularly doing exciting activities such as surfing and cycling. His channel as also inspired me to become more fit and healthy, and basically a better version of me - which no one else has seemed to achieve.

                                                  Louis                                          Casey                                             Ben

These three guys have inspired me on so many levels. But why would I make a blog if these people are film makers? The quick answer to that is I don't have any content worth filming right now (plus I hate the sound of my own voice, but thats something I'm willing to get over in due time).
I hope to one day be like Ben Brown, Casey Neistat and Louis Cole, who travel the world taking films and amazing photographs while getting paid for it. Thats my dream.
